Frequently Asked Questions
About Our Plugins
What's the difference between Scope and DeltaScope?
Scope is our free oscilloscope plugin — a beat-synced waveform display with clip detection, sharp at any size up to 4K. DeltaScope is the paid version, built on the same rendering engine, and adds the analysis tools: route in a second signal and compare the two (including a delta mode that shows exactly what your processing changed), a spectrum analyser, level metering, on-screen waveform measurement, and phase correlation across time. If you want a clean, accurate scope, Scope is all you need. If you want to compare signals, analyse frequency content, or measure precisely, DeltaScope adds those.
Is Scope really free?
Yes. Scope is free to download and keep — no trial period, no feature gates. You add it to your cart and check out at £0 through Paddle, our payment provider; your free license key arrives in the order confirmation email, and you activate the plugin with that key. No account, no dongle, no iLok.
Is there a free oscilloscope plugin for Mac?
Yes — Scope is a free oscilloscope plugin for macOS, available in VST3 and Audio Unit (AU) formats and native on both Apple Silicon and Intel. You can get it from the Scope product page on apolloviewmodular.com.
Which DAWs do your plugins work in?
Any DAW that supports VST3 or Audio Unit. That includes Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Cubase, Bitwig Studio, Reaper, and FL Studio, among others.
Do you have a Windows version?
Not yet. Our plugins are currently macOS only (VST3 and AU). Windows, AAX, and CLAP support are on the way.
Are your plugins native on Apple Silicon?
Yes. All Apollo View plugins run natively on both Apple Silicon (M-series) and Intel Macs.
Purchasing
What do I get when I purchase a plugin?
One purchase gives you every plugin format we ship — currently VST3 and Audio Unit for macOS. If we add formats in the future (e.g. AAX, CLAP), your existing license will cover them. There is no separate purchase per format or per DAW.
Are there free versions?
Yes — Scope is a free oscilloscope plugin, and it's a complete tool rather than a time-limited trial. DeltaScope is a separate paid plugin with additional analysis features, not an unlock of Scope (see What's the difference between Scope and DeltaScope?). You activate the free Scope with a free license key, the same way as a paid plugin.
Do you sell through resellers or third-party stores?
No. Our plugins are sold exclusively through apolloviewmodular.com. If you see them listed on an unauthorised third-party site, that sale will not be honoured and you will not receive support.
Can I purchase a plugin as a gift?
Yes — contact support and we can arrange a gift purchase for you.
Can I transfer my license to someone else?
No. Licenses are non-transferable and are tied to the original purchaser.
Installation & Activation
How do I activate my plugin?
When you first open the plugin, the activation screen will appear. Enter the email address you used to purchase and the license key from your order confirmation. That's it — no dongles, no iLok, no challenge/response.
Can I install on multiple computers?
Yes. You can install and activate on as many computers as you personally own and use. The license is tied to you, not to a specific machine.
Do your plugins require an internet connection?
No. Our plugins do not phone home or require an active internet connection to run. Activation is validated locally on your machine.
I got a new computer — how do I move my license?
Simply install the plugin on your new machine and activate it with the same email and license key. If you are selling or giving away your old computer, remove the software first.
My hard drive crashed. Can I re-activate?
Yes. Install the plugin on your new or repaired machine and activate with your original email and license key. Your license key does not expire and can be reused.
Do I need to uninstall the free edition before installing the paid edition?
No. Free and paid editions are separate plugins and can coexist on the same system. Your presets and settings will not be affected.
Licensing & Copy Protection
What copy protection do your plugins use?
We use a simple email + license key system. No dongles, no iLok, no online activation servers. Your key is validated locally and stored on your machine.
Do your plugins phone home?
No. Our plugins never contact any server. Your license is validated entirely on your machine.
Can I use your plugins offline?
Yes. All our plugins work fully offline. No internet connection is required at any point after initial download.
Is iLok supported?
No. We do not use iLok. We believe activation should be simple and painless — enter your email and key, and you're done.
Upgrades & Updates
Are updates free?
Yes. All updates within the current major version are free. When you see an update available, download the new installer and run it — your existing license key will continue to work.
Will my license key work with future versions?
Your license key will work with all updates to the current major version. If a future major version requires a new key, existing customers will be offered an upgrade discount.
Refunds
What is your refund policy?
Where a free edition is available, we encourage you to evaluate the core functionality before purchasing. We generally do not offer refunds. If you have a genuine issue, contact support and we will work with you.
Technical
What are the system requirements?
- OS: macOS 13.0 (Ventura) or later
- Formats: VST3, Audio Unit (AU)
- DAWs: Any DAW that supports VST3 or AU
Where are my settings stored?
All Apollo View plugins store settings and license data in:
~/Library/Application Support/ApolloView/
What data do you store about me?
We keep your name, email address, and transaction reference number so you can access your downloads and license keys. We do not store your payment card details or billing information — payment processing is handled by Paddle, our third-party payment provider.
I'm having an issue — how do I get support?
Contact us through apolloviewmodular.com. Include your plugin name and version, DAW name and version, macOS version, and a description of the issue.
